What Are You
Dismissing?
by Dr. Joe Vitale
www.mrfire.com
I had lunch with a dear
friend the other day. While I enjoyed the company and the
food, I left feeling a little depressed.
When I thought about it,
I realized my friend was brilliant at dismissing every book,
concept, guru, self-help method, or healing approach he had
read or heard about.
He was not directly
negative or purposely critical. He sincerely wanted
something that would work in his life. But he was
unconsciously dismissing everything that came his way.
At one point I told him
about a guru I had studied over two decades ago. I told him
that people said, "My guru was obviously enlightened. He
radiated it."
My friend cut in saying,
"I'm sure there are people who saw that guru and didn't
think he was any smarter than a paper bag."
Well, my friend is right.
But my friend is also
unhappy.
I think there's a lesson
here. When we dismiss people and ideas because the entire
world doesn't agree with them, we get to be right. But we
also get to stay empty inside. By dismissing what could
work, we dismiss our own growth. We dismiss what's possible.
It doesn't matter if the
book you read and love is loved by anyone else. It doesn't
matter if the teacher you admire is admired by anyone else.
It doesn't matter if the healing method that worked for you
doesn't work for everyone else.
What matters is you. Your
happiness. Your health. Your healing. Your well-being.
Truth is, no method works
for everyone. No teacher is right for everyone. No book is
going to inspire everyone.
It all comes from within.
You are the first and final authority on your life.
Rather than dismissing
what is possible so you can be right, what can you accept so
you can grow?
Dismissing is often a way
to deflect the messages. It's a self-defense mechanism. If
you dismiss the book, idea, or method offered to you, you
get to be right --- and stay right where you're at.
Every successful person I
know has accepted new tools into their lives over the years,
spent thousands of dollars on personal growth and
self-study, and never regretted any of it.
The key is not
dismissing, but digesting.
For example, Nerissa and
I had dinner with friends recently. One friend was
complaining about her job. From her perspective, there was
no way out of the misery she felt at her place of work. Bad
boss. Bad hours. Bad pay. You name it, it was bad.
Later we were joined by
other friends. As "chance" would have it, one of the new
friends had connections where our complaining friend worked.
He gave our unhappy friend a name, and said he could help
her resolve her issues. He went on to say that this
connection was a supervisor, head of many departments, and
could probably resolve whatever was wrong.
I was stunned. So was
Nerissa. We were seeing magic happen right before our eyes.
But what did our unhappy
friend do with her new lead and new hope?
She dismissed it.
She didn't write down the
name or the number, or show any signs that something
wonderful had just occurred.
Do you see how this
works?
Sometimes we can
self-sabotage the things we say we want. We simply dismiss
the good.
Let me end this with
another example:
Yesterday I received a
letter in the mail about a new audioprogram about dissolving
illusions. I read the piece but dismissed it. I figured it
was simply stuff I had already heard before and probably
even recorded elsewhere myself.
Then today I got another
mailing, this time from a different source, but selling the
exact same audioprogram. I read it over closely. I thought,
"This is interesting, but I bet there's little new in it." I
then placed the mailing aside.
An hour or so later, as I
was reviewing this very article you're reading right now, I
suddenly realized that I was doing the very thing I am
warning you not to do: I was dismissing an opportunity to
learn.
I dug out the mailing,
filled out the order form, and dropped it in the mail. The
audios are on the way.
The point is not that you
buy everything that comes your way, but that you don't
dismiss everything that comes your way. Sometimes a
dismissal is a mask. It's your self-sabotage at work,
keeping you where you're at. To grow, you must allow.
Again, you are the final
authority on your life.
Tune in to yourself and do what's right for you. And as you
do this, be alert to those times when you may be dismissing
the next gift to come your way.
Let your guard down, and
let life in.
Attention &
Intention - The Magic Combination to Fulfill Your Dreams
By
Thomas Herold
How do wealthy people create their wealth? For most of us
it seems like magic; and many actually think that there must
be a secret formula involved.
In our western world, we are conditioned to always
believe that the most complicated solution must be true.
That's why you see the word "easy" in many advertisements.
"Easy," because with all the high tech stuff around us, life
has not become easier at all. However, life itself is
actually easy, and very simple. What it makes complicated is
our perceptions and conclusions.
The same is true with manifesting wealth in your life. If
you follow simple steps, you will create wealth in your
life. The challenge is that we have forgotten to think in an
easy way. Our mind comes up with the most deluded stories to
justify why others have wealth and abundance, and we don't.
To create wealth and abundance in your life begin with
one simple step: believe that it is possible for you to have
it!
Think about how much time you spend during your day to
achieve this goal. Most of us are so busy with our lives
that we run almost all day on auto-responder. We have given
ourselves a side role in our self-produced movie. We are not
present to tell the director what to do in the movie. So our
days either go as they have in the past, or just at random.
In order to direct your attention toward something you'd
like to achieve, you need to have free attention. Attention
is the magnet that will attract new situations in your life.
Without free attention, you are back to playing the
auto-responder 'bot.
Start with the intention to be wealthy and to live in
abundance. Intend to create prosperity in your life. Make
this the first thought when you get up in the morning.
However, intention alone doesn't get you there. Remind
yourself constantly about your new goal. This way, it gets
imprinted into your consciousness. Your consciousness needs
to build new neuronal pathways, and that will take some
time. It is like working out - you cannot expect to be in
perfect shape after visiting the gym once.
There are also times in your life where you feel
discouraged and you just want to say goodbye to this world.
Nothing works out, and you think you will never make it.
It's almost impossible for most of us to shift ourselves out
of this mood. We have the belief that circumstances outside
of our control have contributed to our mood, and therefore
our attention is stuck on the outside situation. Bringing
the attention back to ourselves is the key to solving this
dilemma.
Discouragement is a result of expectations. It happens
when you expect something to happen and it doesn't. It is a
confusion about time, because it will happen - just not at
the time you thought. So relax, and realign with your
intention. This may not be an easy task in the beginning.
What Can You Do to Help Guide Your Attention?
Today, take 30 minutes aside from your normal daily life
– sit down, close your eyes, and start dreaming about what
you really want to manifest.
- Is there anything you've always wanted?
- Is there something you have long given up on?
- What makes you really happy?
I remember my parents constantly reminded me not to
daydream. I hated it when they threw me out of my lovely
daydreams. They told me I will never make it in this world
daydreaming. They probably didn't know that there are
professional people that do nothing but daydream. These
individuals have a wonderful life, as they need to be
totally relaxed in order to 'download' new ideas, and then
sell them for millions of dollars.
As an adult I had to re-learn daydreaming, as I had been
conditioned not to by my parents. I've heard rumors that
Google actually gives its employees some extra time during
the day, to do creative daydreaming. Dreaming is highly
effective for your creativity; many glorious inventions have
emerged from it.

Stay Determined to
Say No to Not Succeeding
By
Twanzell
Williams
In life we cannot
avoid a true fact which is this. We will
encounter at various moments within our
lives the one thing that we strive to avoid
which is opposition.
We may not be used
to hearing this particular suggestion that I
am about to say either. Appreciate
opposition when it shows up at your door
step in life.
I would like to
even add further to my suggestion by saying
welcome opposition. When we look at the many
people who are religiously involved in
weight lifting, they all know that the
principle in weight lifting is resistance.
In weight lifting resistance is what builds
strength. Have you ever heard this statement
before? No Pain No Gain.
Some of the
greatest achievers in the world today and in
world history overcame some of the greatest
odds to accomplish the success that many of
us covet so badly that also want to
accomplish great things in this life.
These history
making achievers should inspire us. The
inspiration that we receive from their
renowned stories that you and I benefit
from, would not have been available to enjoy
if these history changers did not say no to
not succeeding.
I get joyous when I
discuss with other fellow colleagues and
business associates the story of Mr. Walt
Disney. After having a dream and vision to
create a Theme Park for people to be able to
bring their families to for a wonderful
trip, vacation, fun, relaxation and
enjoyment, He went to work on making his
dream and vision a reality. Now Disney World
is the most visited Theme Park in the world
today.
What is inspiring
however though is this. When Walt Disney
approached banks and other institutions that
were able to lend him money to visionaries
like himself for his dream of a Theme Park,
he got turned down over 300 times. Wow! He
was determined to make his dream become a
reality even though he did not succeed in
getting the loan from the first 200 plus
lending institutions that turned him down.
He could have said, I am tired of getting
turned down for a loan for my dream so I
will just forget about.
Nope. He was
resilient and determined to not accept no as
his final answer. Whatever your ambitions,
desires or dreams are personally remember
that you can get there. Do not let
opposition stop you. It may slow down how
quickly you want to attain what you are
trying to do but do not let it stop you.
Success can be grabbed if no is not accepted
by you.
Succeeding at what
you want should not be looked at like and
compared to a race but a marathon. Success
takes time. Do some succeed quicker than
others? Yes, of course they do; but staying
the course is what is most important. If you
stay the course accomplishment will
eventually come.
The reason I can
share these statements with you is because I
have seen it happen in my life with my own
dreams. I wanted to get my own home business
off the grown and running because I desire
to be able to leave a business one day to my
four children to inherit and run if they
wanted it. It took me several years of
trying but you know what I got there.
My home business is
doing great and it is growing all the time
on a daily basis. The only reason my home
business is where it is at today is because
I said no to not succeeding.
Did it take time
for me to get it to the point where I have
it at right now? You betcha. However I am
really enjoying it so much because I
encountered opposition so many times that
often I have had to stop and look in the
mirror and ask myself, Self, what made you
continue to keep going?
I realized that I
had been blessed with the mind set of
staying resilient. In addition to that I
grew along the way because I realized how
the opposition and resistance was building
more strength inside of me along my journey.
I am so glad for that particular trait that
I realize is a part of me.
Always remember
this very familiar saying, If at first you
do not succeed, try try again. The trying
again effort on your part is a wonderful
sign that you have chosen to say no to not
succeeding. Continue to say no to it until
you reach all of your dreams in life.
Attracting Success
The Right Way
By
Paul Hooper - Kelly
The human brain has
a remarkable problem solving ability. Yet
many people struggle along with problems
they could easily solve and endure lives
they could easily change, if only they
instruct the brain properly and then let it
do all the hard work.
The first thing you
must realize about the brain is the
subconscious part thinks in pictures. That's
why many people -- including many record
breaking athletes -- swear by visualization.
But, like any activity, if you want the
right results you need to do it properly.
Many advocates of
visualization will suggest you look at a
picture of the object of your desire. The
idea is by constantly seeing the photograph
of a particular car, it will implant itself
in your brain and the car will materialize
in your life. Close, but no cigar!
Looking at a
photograph of a car will not impress your
subconscious to the degree you could if you
visualized correctly. The way to correctly
visualize you owning that car is not to
simply stare at a picture -- you must
picture yourself driving the thing! And, as
you need to imbue all your senses, touch,
smell as well as sight the best course of
action is to go and take a test drive.
Before you start
out you must know exactly the model you want
and the color you will have. Ideally you
should test drive the exact model.
On the day of the
test drive, act like a human sponge and soak
up every nuance of the experience. The way
your body sinks into the seat. How the seat
wraps itself around you, like a cocoon. The
solid "clunk" as the door shuts. That "new
car" smell. Now reach out and grasp the
steering wheel. Look out over the hood.
Finger the controls. Take it all in.
Then go for the
drive. Imagine yourself driving back to your
beautiful home in this magnificent vehicle,
after pulling off some amazing deal which
has just sent your wealth into the
stratosphere.
This experience
will give your subconscious something to
work on.
Then, at least
twice a day -- and particularly upon
retiring -- you should relive this drive in
every glorious detail. Again the scenario
should be you driving home after pulling off
some amazing deal.
At the same time,
repeat to your self: "I own this
magnificent vehicle, which I fully deserve
because I am worth it and because I add
value and pleasure to people's lives.".
You can vary the
words to ones you are comfortable with, but
be sure you use the present tense: "I drive"
not "I will be driving" or "I want to have".
You must also be careful to use the verb
"own" and not "drive". After all, you don't
want to end up chauffeuring someone else
around in this exact same model, do you?
So how do you get
from visualizing the car to actually owning
it? That's where the finest super computer
in the world comes in and why it's important
to fall asleep seeing yourself driving.
Because, perhaps not tomorrow -- it may not
even be for a month or two, but if you
visualize owning this car regularly, your
brain will eventually come up with a plan
for you to own it.
